Wireless Bridge
A Wireless Connection Between Two Buildings
The wireless bridge installation project involved establishing a reliable wireless connection between two buildings, utilizing Starlink as the source of internet connectivity. To optimize the setup, we configured the Starlink unit to bypass mode, allowing for seamless integration with our network infrastructure. This configuration enables efficient internet access for both locations while maintaining the benefits of the Starlink service.
At the heart of our installation was a robust router and firewall equipped with Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) capabilities. This vital component not only enhances the security of the network but also allows for advanced monitoring and management of incoming and outgoing traffic. By leveraging IPS technology, we can effectively mitigate potential threats, ensuring that both buildings remain secure and operational.
We deployed PoE (Power over Ethernet) 24-port managed network switches at each building, facilitating the delivery of both power and data over a single cable. This streamlined approach significantly reduces the complexity of the installation while ensuring that all connected devices, including cameras, operate efficiently. In one building, we installed nine security cameras, enhancing surveillance capabilities and providing comprehensive coverage of critical areas. The second building is now fully prepared to receive additional cameras, thanks to the installation of a PoE switch, ensuring a future-proof setup that can easily accommodate expanding security needs.
This installation not only enhances connectivity between the two buildings but also provides a scalable solution for future upgrades. The combination of advanced networking equipment and security features ensures that both locations can operate smoothly and securely, allowing for improved operational efficiency and peace of mind.
